Ascendancy is a turn-based space 4X you play in the browser. No install.

You start on a single homeworld before faster-than-light travel. Pick a national programme and steer your civilization through orbit, fusion and FTL. Then the galaxy opens, and you are not the only empire in it.

EXPLORE, SETTLE, BUILD, FIGHT, NEGOTIATE

- 10 empires plus a custom race creator, each with its own temperament: Krellin warlords, the Zyx Swarm, Ferran forges, Silt Nomads who never stop moving.

- Design your own warships. Every module competes for the same slots, and ships already in service keep the fittings they were built with.

- Tactical battles with real orders: press the attack, focus capitals, hold formation or disengage. Then pick ground tactics for the invasion.

- A galactic Council that votes on laws, rival empires that form coalitions against a runaway leader, and galaxy events that force costly choices.

Conquer the galaxy, transcend through technology, outgrow every economy, endure a war you cannot lose, unite the galaxy through the Council, or simply outlast them all.

TRY THE OPENING, NO ACCOUNT NEEDED

The planetbound era and the first 15 turns of the galaxy play in your browser. A one-time $15 license (card or USDC) continues the campaign and opens multiplayer. Your save is kept in the browser either way.

Best on a desktop or laptop. The first visit downloads about 45 MB; the browser keeps it afterwards.
